DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS AT SEVEN SISTERS COUNTRY PARK

Please read these instructions carefully!

TIMES/DIRECTIONS:

The start and finish times for your workshop can be found on the appropriate workshop page of the website, e.g. Close-up.  Our course will be held in the Turkey Barn which is just behind the Farmhouse Restaurant. Parking is available in the Forest Car Park. Car sharing is encouraged to protect this area of outstanding natural beauty.  Please report to the Turkey Barn 15 minutes before your workshop is due to start.

Location:

Seven Sisters Country Park is situated at Exceat in East Sussex, just off the A259 between Eastbourne and Seaford. It is easily accessible from anywhere in the South East.

WHAT TO BRING ON PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS:

To get the most from your course, please note the following:

·         You will need your camera.  Ensure it has fresh/fully charged batteries and a spare battery is recommended.

·         You will need your fully-detailed camera instruction manual (it’s worth checking your manual – sometimes the printed one you receive only contains basic facts and there’s a fully detailed manual on the CD that came with the camera, in which case bring the CD too).

·         Memory card - it is essential that you start the day with an empty, preferably newly formatted, memory card.  This is to minimize downloading time to the computers, so that everyone has the opportunity to view their own photos.  We will use card readers to transfer your images to our computers, but in the event that we are not able to do this successfully, please bring your camera to computer data cable too.

·         For SLR users, please don’t set your camera to shoot RAW images, as they will make downloading too slow.  If you want to shoot RAW, please select RAW plus jpeg. (Sigma users - if you are not able to shoot jpeg, please notify us in advance of the workshop).

·         A camera bag is useful for protecting your camera and equipment when outdoors, and a transparent plastic bag and some sticky tape make a good, temporary waterproof cover for your camera, and an umbrella will protect both you and your equipment on wet days.

·         Bring a tripod (full height) if you have one.

·         A notebook and pen/pencil will be needed.

·         Dress in warm, comfortable clothing for outdoor sessions. A waterproof/ windproof top will be useful.

·         Comfortable but strong footwear is advised for photographing outdoors.

·         A garden kneeler or similar for getting low for some photos.

REFRESHMENTS:

Coffee will be available on arrival and mid-morning.  For lunch you can either:

·         bring a packed lunch

·        eat in the Exceat Farmhouse Restaurant - at weekend the restaurant can be very busy, so please call 01323 870218 to make a reservation.
