PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES IN CORNWALL

Workshops in the Lost Gardens of Heligan

One-Day Digital Photography Courses at the Lost Gardens of Heligan

Learn to use your camera at HeliganHeligan, seat of the Tremayne family for more than 400 years, is one of the most mysterious estates in England. At the end of the nineteenth century its thousand acres were at their zenith, but only a few years after the Great War of 1914 bramble and ivy were already drawing a green veil over this sleeping beauty.

Amazing Subjects for Photographers

After decades of neglect, the devastating hurricane that hit Cornwall in 1990 should have consigned the Lost Gardens of Heligan to a footnote in history. Instead, fired by a magnificent obsession to bring these once glorious gardens back to life, SLR and Compact Cameras welcomea small band of enthusiasts has grown into a large working team with its own vision for Heligan’s future.  The award-winning restoration of Heligan’s productive gardens is only one of many features which combine to create a destination with a breadth of interest around the year:  Victorian pleasure grounds with spring flowering shrubs, summerhouses, pools & rockeries; a sub-tropical Jungle valley brimming with exotic foliage; woodland and farm walks through beautiful countryside of Cornwall, where sustainable management practices promote habitat conservation and a pioneering Wildlife Project offering visitors a close-up view of native wildlife.
