Paul Southall is a professional photographer and tutor of photography. SWPP (Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers) and SITTP (Society of International Travel & Tourism Photographers) member whose business DCZ Photography is based in Bewdley, Worcestershire, UK. Paul studied photography at college and has over 25 years experience with commissions of all styles from Portrait to Product shots, Weddings to Multimedia Productions for private and business clients and has travelled extensively to capture motor sport and travel images.

Utilising the new technology of Pro HD Video Multimedia Productions are now commissioned and popular with business clients and wedding shoots.

Paul was the still photographer for the prestigious Royal Television Society Awards ceremony tasked with shooting images of all of the award winners accepting their trophies from other notable guest celebrities and reportage images of the champagne reception.

Another interesting commission was to provide the still images for Nuera narrow boats of their radically designed and eco friendly boat while being featured throughout ITV's Waterworld series.

While a multimedia visual presentation shot taken in Venice was accepted for the Manfrotto [Tripod manufacturers] website to promote converging technologies.

one-2-one days usually run from 10am to 4pm. My charges are below [Non Promotion]:

  • Weekdays ONLY - from £150 half day, £225 full day plus travelling and any other expenses, e.g. room hire if required

  • Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays- from £375 per day plus travelling and any other expenses, e.g. room hire if required

  • A second person is welcome, free of charge

  • Group rates on request.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
I ask for a £50 deposit (non-refundable) payable on booking your one-to-one training, with the balance to be paid in full at least 7 days before the training day.


Cameras for Loan

You can borrow a Nikon DSLR, Panasonic Lumix G1 CSC or Panasonic Bridge camera for your workshop or one-to-one training. Please contact to confirm availability by sending an email to

I would just like to thank you for an exhilarating day yesterday enhanced by the fantastic weather. Apart from your sound and illuminating instruction, I thought that Trevor and his birds were absolutely unforgettable, something I have not had the privilege of experiencing previously.

I have really been enjoying my photography since attending the DSLR Part 1 workshop, and look forward to learning a few more techniques on Part 2.


I will have completed the SLR courses part 1 and 2 by the time I attend the Birds of Prey day - but imagine I will still need quite a bit of support! I'm really excited about your workshop - I love birds of prey and once I can remember all that I have been shown with my Canon 450D I'm sure I will love that too.


I had a great day and learnt a lot, especially after switching to aperture mode, from manual. I have always shot manual from my first DSLR, and never considered anything else. I take a lot of photos in the industrial environment of the machines we produce. I have just taken some of a laser marking machine this morning (in Aperture mode) and it was much easier, as I could bang the ISO up to get the correct shutter speed.


I just wanted to write to say how much I enjoyed the course on Saturday. I have learnt heaps, and am now much more confident at having a bash at changing the various settings. I will definitely be booking the 2nd part of the course in the near future.


We had a great day and it was fantastic to be able to have a try with your camera.


I am emailing you on behalf of my Dad and I. We both really enjoyed your close-up and macro course and learned a huge amount. We hope to go on another course soon.
