PHOTOGRAPHY HOLIDAYS IN FRANCE

Photography Holidays in France

Sharing a Passion for Photography

David Muscroft (who also leads our Reportage Photography Masterclasses) brings his unrivalled experience to Photography Holidays situated in the Languedoc, southern France.

Passion for Photography

Based at The Old Pharmacy in Magalas, his comfortable  townhouse, David’s passion for photography is used to full effect in taking you to the visual cream of locations within about an hour’s drive.  Here you will have the opportunity to build on your existing skill levels and techniques, and with his experience in photographing the Languedoc, learn how to work the light and space and return with great personal images.

Our Workshops and Courses - Where do the Holidays Fit?

Skill Levels 2 to 4

Skill Levels 2 to 4David’s photography holidays are designed for the typical enthusiast photographer, who may have a DSLR, may even be a camera club member, and for whom using the major camera controls will be no mystery (a grasp of photo-technique and basic Photoshop image enhancement would be an advantage in making full use of the photo-opportunities on the holiday, but not entirely necessary).

David does not take you along the normal tourist trail, but exploits his in-depth knowledge to reveal the hidden treasures and huge visual variety of the region.

MarketThe Itinerary

Canal du MidiAchieve your goals!

Our photography holidays build on the skills learned on our UK based workshops.  David’s emphasis is on how to use time on location to best effect.

Iconic Images

With David’s expert guidance you can achieve the rewarding goal of building on your existing abilities. He will demonstrate how to capture iconic images, not mere picture postcards. Guided by his decades of experience in producing contemporary stock photography, you will explore how to create great personal images.

Working the Light & Space

David does not advocate the reliance on Photoshop to ‘lift’ ordinary pictures, and uses only a few tried, trusted and simple techniques of picture enhancement himself. These he will share with you on return to base.  His expertise is in encouraging you to enhance your own skills, in working the light and space, and inspiring you with his enthusiasm for creating superb images of France.

Non-photographer partners

Toro PiscineThe photographic locations David takes his guests to are also very special in themselves. Most are hugely popular tourist destinations (though our holidays are outside peak holiday times).

As a non-photographer guest you will enjoy the experience of southern France just as much as your camera-laden partner. You have the time to fully savour the climate, sights and flavours of this very special area of Mediterranean France. David will also make every effort to guide you in how best to enjoy your stay in the Languedoc.

Windmill, Faugeres

Hi David,  Thought I'd drop you a quick e-mail to say thanks for the very enjoyable weekend in Magalas and the surrounding area. Both Martina and myself found it a great experience.

We both intend to put to good use the advice you shared with us and hopefully we'll be in a good position to thrash the opposition in our club events! The grand total of images taken is fairly respectable with Martina having managed 550 and me with 502 and we're about to begin process of sorting the wheat from the chaff. First impressions on the "big screen" are certainly superior to the laptop, so it's looking good.   Thanks again.  Bill & Martina Calladine

Dear DavidThanks so much for helping to revitalize my photography, and for introducing me to the local wines !

I especially thought the bridge at Millau was the most awesome photo subject I could ever have imagined ! And then your previous words about thinking about alternative angles really inspired me to think past a picture postcard view.

I had great fun and learned a lot at the same time. And my bedroom was the most charming place I have ever stayed in !

Best regards and I hope to get there again,

Dennis Lound
