Birds of Prey & Action
Mere Down Falconry, Wiltshire
Join Peter at this wonderful private venue where you can get really close to the birds. You will see a selection of about 20 birds both close up and in flight. As the day goes on, the flight speed will increase but your falconer and tutor are both there to help and advise you. From the famous owls often flown at Longleat to R2 and D2 the hawks who catch tennis balls, to the lovely Yellow Billed Kite which often attracts wild red kites overhead as well; then on to the pair of falcons that will test your photographic skills with their acrobatics and speed!
Portrait Photography - Natural Light & Location

With a model present and in this small group course you will be able to develop your skills of taking wonderful portrait photos in naturally lit situations. The model will also spend some time in her wedding dress so that you can understand and meet the challenges of photographing a mainly white subject.

Wildlife & Nature on Location
Ham Wall, Somerset
Join your tutor at Ham Wall on the Somerset Levels for an afternoon and early evening opportunity to photograph the famous STARLING MURMURATIONS as tens of thousands of birds come in to roost for the night. Don't forget to listen to the noise as well as watching and photographing the amazing shapes created by these birds. You might see the impact of a Marsh Harrier or a buzzard on the murmuring birds! Full details will be sent near the date of the course as the meeting place depends on the latest activity of the birds.

This course will last for about two hours. We will meet at the Aust Services Car Park, at a time to be confirmed nearer the date but it will be just as it is getting dark. You will be able to stand over the M4 at the old Severn Bridge and get some wonderful shots of the long exposure light trails created by the vehicles passing under your feet and over the bridge.
One-to-One Experience Days West of England & South Wales

This course will run for 3 hours on a date mutually agreed with the student and the tutor. The emphasis is on learning how to get your camera off automatic settings and take control of the photos you produce. This course can be arranged at a venue to suit within a 40 mile radius of Bristol, or can be at our base venue in just off the M4/M5 junction at Almondsbury. As with all of our 121 courses you may bring a friend with you at no extra charge.

Swansea & the Brecon Beacons
This residential is based at the Aberavon Beach Hotel, Aberavon Beach near Port Talbot. It will run from Friday 16th April 2027 until Sunday 18th. The price does not include accommodation and we recommend that you sort this before you book your place on the course. During your time away you will visit a red kite feeding station, the wonderful waterfalls of the Neath Valley and get to see the 3 species of deer at the beautiful Margam Park. Transport will be provided during our time at the hotel.
