Brownsea Island, Corfe Castle & Arne
Poole TownBH15 1LS
Poole Town
This course will begin at 1pm with a meeting in the car park at Corfe Castle - (full joining details will be issued a week before the event). After an afternoon around the castle and the village the group will makes its way to Poole which will be the base for the weekend. Your tutor will be staying at the Travelodge on Lifeboat Quay, Holes Bay Road, Poole BH15 1LS, accommodation is not included in the price of the course but we do recommend you book a room early unless of course you live locally. In the evening join the group for your meal and a chat with like minded people.
After breakfast on day 2 we will catch an early ferry to Brownsea Island where we will spend the whole day photographong the wildlife including rare waders such as spoonbills and avocets which are of course the symbol of the RSPB. The main attraction will no doubt be the wonderful red squirrels which colonise large areas of the island. There is a National Trust cafe on the island or of course you are welcome to bring along your own packed lunch. The cost of the boat trip and entry to the island is included in the cost of the workshop. After a full day of wildlife photography we will catch the boat back to complete our circular tour of Poole harbour and then we can meet up in the evening to share our experiences from the day and share a few of our favourite images.
On day 3 after breakfast we will sign out of our hotel and make our way to the wildlife photographers haven of RSPB Arne which is a wonderful nature reserve, boasting a whole array of insects, reptiles, birds and mammals. Of course with all wildlife we cannot guarantee what you will see but with a quiet approach and a degree of patience you should not be disappointed. Oncee again there is a cafe here but you are welcomee to bring your own picnic along with you. At around 3 - 3.30 pm we will gather together back at the cars to say our farewells and wish everyone a safe journey home.
Use VOUCHER CODE: EARLYBROWNSEA to get £45 off the price of the workshop as long as you book before the end of January 2027.
