Stuck on the automatic setting and frustrated that your photos don't look the way you want them to? It’s time to unlock your camera's true potential!
Our Get Off Auto workshop is designed specifically for complete beginners, as well as anyone looking to brush up on their basic skills. We strip away the confusing jargon and replace it with simple, practical steps to give you ultimate confidence and consistency in your photography.
How the Day Works
We blend relaxed classroom theory with hands-on practice so you can instantly see the difference in your photos:
- Morning (The Classroom Session): We gather in a comfortable venue to demystify your camera's buttons and dials. You will learn how and when to change your settings, with a focus on mastering Aperture Priority to control focus and create beautiful, blurry backgrounds.
- Afternoon (The Photo-Walk): We head out into the fresh air for a practical session. This is your chance to put everything you've learned into practice with your tutor right there by your side to help.
- End of Day Review: We finish with a friendly review of your images, a wrap-up Q&A, and plenty of time to answer any individual questions.
This venue may not be suitable for some people as the workshop is held upstairs.

Workshop Details & Price
- Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm
- Strictly Small Groups: Capped at a maximum of 8 people per session to ensure you get plenty of individual 1-to-1 time with your instructor.
- What's Included: Full professional tuition, a friendly learning environment, and comprehensive course handouts emailed to you after the session.
- No Camera? No Problem! If you don't own a DSLR or Mirrorless camera yet, you can reserve one of our free loan cameras when booking your spot!
