PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES YORK

With its historic streets, illuminated architecture and Christmas lights, York is a fantastic place to get creative with your camera at night. We'll make our way through the city centre, looking for different photographic opportunities around landmarks including York Minster and the historic Shambles, as well as the smaller details, reflections and pockets of light we discover along the way.

We'll experiment with longer exposures and low-light photography, capture the atmosphere of the Christmas lights and have a little fun with light painting too.

This is a relaxed, supportive photowalk rather than a formal workshop. We'll photograph together, share ideas and inspiration, and I'll be on hand throughout to help with settings, composition or anything else you get stuck with.

It's a lovely opportunity to get out with your camera, try something different and enjoy photographing alongside other people — hopefully heading home with some images of York you didn't think you'd be able to create.

Time: 7pm–9pm

Meeting point: Outside The Eagle and Child, 9 High Petergate, York, YO1 7EN at 6.50pm, ready to leave promptly at 7pm.

You'll need a digital camera that allows you to set both aperture and shutter speed, plus a tripod. Loan tripods are available if required.
