With a maximum of just four students, you’ll enjoy plenty of individual guidance and time to ask questions. The day runs from 10:30am – 4:00pm at our photography studio in Morley, Leeds, and includes hands-on practice in Churwell’s award-winning urban woodlands – the perfect place to put your new skills into action.

We’ll skip the jargon and explain everything in plain English, helping you finally take control of your camera and get off Auto mode with confidence. This workshop combines relaxed classroom learning with fun practical sessions, and you’ll leave with helpful reference materials to support your continued learning.

Between March and October, around half a million seabirds gather on these dramatic chalk cliffs to raise their young — making it one of the UK’s most spectacular wildlife photography locations.

Kate will help you get the most from your camera, sharing tips on composition, settings, and technique to ensure you come away with some truly memorable shots.

Recommended equipment: A lens of at least 300mm is ideal for this workshop.

Voted one of the Top 10 Bluebell Locations in the UK, this is a wonderful opportunity to capture the magic of the season. Along the way, we’ll also keep an eye out for woodland fungi and local wildlife.

Equipment:A standard lens is perfect for this walk, with a macro or zoom lens useful if you have one. A tripod is recommended — we have loan tripods available, just leave a note when booking.

Details:

• Meet in the car park (parking fees apply) at 9:00am

• Finish at Gibson Mill around 12:30pm (allow for a 1-mile walk back to the car park)

• Terrain: We’ll explore off the main track through woodland areas; expect muddy, uneven, and occasionally steep paths. Walking boots or sturdy shoes are essential for this 3+ mile walk.

Experience level:To get the most from this photo walk, you should have completed our Beginner’s Photography Workshop or feel comfortable using Aperture Priority, Exposure Compensation, and ISO.
