Which Course is Right for Me?

I have a DSLR, Compact System or Bridge Camera

  • Digital compact camerasall DSLRs including Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus & Pentax
  • compact system cameras (compact cameras with interchangeable lenses) including the Panasonic Lumix G, Sony NEX & Olympus PEN

One-Day Workshops - Times

All our workshops run from 10am to 4pm unless otherwise stated.

Group Size

We aim to have a maximum of 10 students per tutor.

Skill Levels

Skill Level 1Beginners

You use your camera on Auto mode, or you are a more experienced photographer but have a new camera and would like advice on getting the best from it.

Skill Level 2Intermediate

You have attended Explore Your DSLR/Compact System Camera Part 1 or Explore Your Compact Camera, or you are already familiar with the basic features and menus of your camera and the use of Aperture Priority, Exposure Compensation and ISO. 

Advanced

Skill Level 3You have attended one or more Level 2 workshop, or have a good understanding of depth of field, ISO and exposure compensation, and wish to learn how to take correctly exposed photos in more challenging conditions, and gain a full understanding of how your camera works, particularly in relation to difficult and moving subjects.

Skill Level 4Masterclasses

You have attended one or more Level 3 workshop, or you are familiar with the key features of your camera and confidently set Aperture Priority, can control shutter speed through ISO and have some experience of photographing moving subjects.

Activity Levels
Walking short distances, i.e. for about 5 minutes.

Moderate walking, i.e. for 10 - 15 minutes.

Walking at a gentle pace for up to 30 minutes, partly off footpaths. Walking boots or similar footwear required.
