FURTHER LANDSCAPE & TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY

Advanced Landscape & Travel Photography

Light & Composition

Landscapes present several difficult challenges to the photographer.  We will show you how to overcome these challenges to enable you to take photographs to be proud of.

Understanding Light

One of the more difficult challenges for the digital photographer is getting the correct exposure in contrasting light conditions.  We will explain the use of polarising and graduated filters in photography and show you techniques that will help you to take striking landscape photographs.

Planning your Landscape Photography

You will learn how to plan your landscape photography days - an essential skill if you are to have the best possible chance of getting stunning shots.

How to take great landscape photographs

Composition

Learning to select your shot from the wider scene is a skill that is often overlooked.  We will show you what to include and, just as important, what to exclude from your image to give you a good composition, as well as how to influence perspective.

More Advanced Photographic Techniques

This day is ideal for you if you have attended one of our Introduction to Landscape Photography workshops, or if you have a basic understanding of depth of field and use the Aperture setting on your camera.

We will begin this workshop by showing you more advanced photographic techniques for the landscape photographer, with two practical photographic sessions, and an opportunity to review your photos as a group.

Equipment

Essential equipment - any camera (compact or SLR) with the facility to set Aperture  (A or AV), Shutter Speed (S or TV) and a full Manual setting (M).  These settings are often found on the Mode dial on top of your camera, but occasionally you may have to delve into a menu to find them.  You will also need a tripod (full height).

Optional equipment - polarising filter, graduated filters (grey or ND), remote shutter release.
