Photography Walk at Jesmond Dene

Jesmond Dene in the autumn is an explosion of colour; throw in historic buildings, wildlife and waterfalls and you have an amazing array of subjects to photograph on our photography walk.
The day will start at 10am with a brief presentation regarding the walk and an overview of what camera settings and functionality we will be using on our walk. There will also be a refresher on depth of field, focal length, exposure and the use of filters. Then the walk will begin, with expert tuition from Kelvin McIvor we’ll be out for approx 3 hours before we head back to Jesmond Dene House for lunch.

One-to-one Training

Our one-to-one days usually run from 10am to 4pm. Our charges are below:

Weekdays - from £275 plus travelling and any other expenses, e.g. room hire if required

Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays- from £375 plus travelling and any other expenses, e.g. room hire if required

A second person is welcome, free of charge

Group rates on request.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
We ask for a £50 deposit (non-refundable) payable on booking your one-to-one training, with the balance to be paid in full at least 7 days before the training day.

Tutor

Kelvin has been a keen photographer from childhood since shadowing his father at motorsport events. Although Kelvin started off taking action shots he now specialises in landscape photography spending many an early morning in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the Northumberland Coast; as well as exploring the wonders of macro photography. Kelvin is also a member of the Bureau of Freelance Photographers (BFP).
After a career spanning 20 years in IT he also has a great insight into the technology aspect of digital photography and is an experienced user of Photoshop.
Kelvin appreciates the many hurdles that most beginners face when starting to explore the more advanced features of digital photography, he enjoys teaching and encouraging students to take more control and achieve that shot that you never thought would be possible.

Hi Kelvin,

First just wanted to thank you again for the SLR2 workshop yesterday. As I said on the day I've been self taught since December so it was good to finally not only get some constructive tuition but also meet with people at a similar level to myself. I was unsure if the workshop would be too advanced for me as I said, but found your method and enthusiasm (and patience!) meant that I fit right in and was quickly up to speed with everyone else. I'll certainly be booking further workshops later in the year.
