 PREVIOUS PHOTOGRAPHIC EXPERIENCE

Our workshops commence with Explore Your Camera Part 1 - Get off Auto for complete beginners.

On each subsequent workshop page you'll find a Previous Experience section which will tell you what you should ideally already know to get the best from each workshop.

 PHOTOGRAPHIC & OTHER EQUIPMENT

WHAT PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT SHOULD I BRING TO MY WORKSHOP?

A full list will be included in your Joining Instructions, but here's a summary of the essentials.

  • You'll need your camera and at least one fully charged battery and at least one empty memory card.

  • Your local tutor may have loan cameras and tripods - you can find their contact details on the Region and Venue pages of the website.

  • Other equipment may vary from one workshop to another, so please read the Equipment section on the Workshop page of the website.

  • We'll supply you with ample course notes to take home, but an pen is essential and a small notebook could be useful.

  • If in doubt please bring wet weather gear for outdoor workshops, as well as sturdy footwear.

WHAT TYPE OF CAMERA DO I NEED?

Most of our workshops are suitable for all types of camera, but to help you there's an Equipment section on most of our workshop pages where you can find more information.

LOAN CAMERAS

If you feel your camera is not suitable, you'll find that many of our tutors have DSLRs available for free loan and these can be reserved as part of the booking process.  If in doubt please contact your local tutor for more information.

 WORKSHOP LOCATIONS

WHERE ARE YOUR WORKSHOPS HELD?

You can find your nearest workshop by

  1. visiting our Venues page

  2. filtering by workshop type.

You'll then see all venues near you offering your chosen workshop, on our map.

Many of our workshops begin and end in a classroom, giving you the best possible opportunity to prepare for your workshop and ask questions as well as the opportunity to review your images as a group.

For photographers with some previous experience we offer photo walks, where you'll be accompanied by one of our experienced tutors who will advise you how to take the very best photographs during your walk.

 ONE-TO-ONE TRAINING

WHAT DO YOU COVER ON YOUR ONE-TO-ONE EXPERIENCE DAYS?

Our one-to-one days are tailored to your specific requirements, so we can cover most aspects of photography and basic photo editing.  Your local tutor will get in touch with you before your training to discuss your requirements so that you have the best possible day.  If in doubt, please Contact your local tutor before making your booking.
