 WORKSHOP TIMES

WHAT TIME DOES MY WORKSHOP START AND FINISH?

Our workshops run from 10 am to 4 pm unless otherwise stated.  Full details are contained in the workshop listings and will be confirmed in your Joining Instructions.



 PREVIOUS PHOTOGRAPHIC EXPERIENCE

I ALREADY USE MY CAMERA REGULARLY, SHOULD I BOOK THE INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOGRAPHY PART 1 OR PART 2 WORKSHOP?

If you are already confidently setting the right Aperture to suit the type of photograph you're capturing, for static subjects then our 

Introduction to Photography - Part 2 - Movement. workshop is for you.  If not, you should book -

Introduction to Photography Part 1- Get off Auto

On each subsequent workshop page you'll find a Previous Experience section which will tell you what you should ideally already know to get the best from each workshop.



 PHOTOGRAPHIC & OTHER EQUIPMENT

WHAT PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT SHOULD I BRING TO MY WORKSHOP?

A full list will be included in your Joining Instructions, but here's a summary of the essentials.

  • You'll need your camera and at least one fully charged battery and at least one empty memory card.

  • Your local tutor may have loan cameras and tripods - you can find their contact details on the Region and Venue pages of the website.

  • Other equipment may vary from one workshop to another, so please read the Equipment section on the Workshop page of the website. 

  • We'll supply you with ample course notes to take home, but an pen is essential and a small notebook could be useful.

  • If in doubt please bring wet weather gear for outdoor workshops, as well as sturdy footwear.

WHAT TYPE OF CAMERA DO I NEED?

Most of our workshops are suitable for all types of camera, but to help you there's an Equipment section on most of our workshop pages where you can find more information.  

LOAN CAMERAS

If you feel your camera is not suitable, or you don't yet have one, you'll find that many of our tutors have cameras available for free loan and these can be reserved as part of the booking process.  If in doubt please contact your local tutor for more information.

WHERE ARE YOUR WORKSHOPS HELD?

You can find your nearest workshop by 

  1. visiting our Venues page

  2. filtering by workshop type.  

You'll then see all venues near you offering your chosen workshop, on our map.

Many of our workshops begin and end in a classroom, giving you the best possible opportunity to prepare for your workshop and ask questions as well as the opportunity to review your images as a group.

For photographers with some previous experience we offer photo walks, where you'll be accompanied by one of our experienced tutors who will advise you how to take the very best photographs during your walk.



 ONE-TO-ONE TRAINING

WHAT DO YOU COVER ON YOUR ONE-TO-ONE EXPERIENCE DAYS?

Our one-to-one days are tailored to your specific requirements, so we can cover most aspects of photography and basic photo editing.  Your local tutor will get in touch with you before your training to discuss your requirements so that you have the best possible day.  If in doubt, please Contact your local tutor before making your booking.



 BOOKINGS

HOW DO I BOOK A WORKSHOP?

Click on the Book Now link for your chosen workshop.  Complete your details then click on the Add to Basket button.  You can then add more workshops to your basket, or proceed to the Checkout.

HOW CAN I PAY?

You can pay by credit or debit card or PayPal.  

If you're arranging tailored training your tutor will create a new workshop especially for you, so that you can click the Book Now link and pay through the usual channels.

HOW DO I REDEEM GIFT VOUCHERS AND PROMO CODES?

When you checkout you'll have the opportunity to enter your Voucher number or Promo Code.  You should then click the Redeem button.  If you have more than one voucher or code you should enter them one at a time and click Redeem after each one.  The value will be deducted from the balance to pay.

If the value of your voucher is greater than the cost of your booking, we'll send you a new voucher for the unspent balance.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I'VE MADE MY BOOKING?

You'll receive a confirmation email with detailed Joining Instructions, by return.  If you can't find it in your inbox, please check your junk mail just in case it's been moved there.

Nearer the date of the workshop you'll also receive a reminder email, which may contain additional notes to help you on the day of the workshop.




 CANCELLATIONS

WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO REARRANGE MY WORKSHOP DATE OR CANCEL MY BOOKING?

You should immediately contact your local tutor whose details will be in your confirmation email.  Please see our Terms & Conditions for full details.

WHAT HAPPENS IF GOING DIGITAL CANCEL A WORKSHOP

We'll offer you the choice of an available place on any of our equivalent future workshops in the same Going Digital region.



 WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN

DO YOU RUN WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN?

Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult throughout the workshop.  We regret that we cannot accept under 16's on certain workshops - please see the appropriate venue page for details.  If in doubt, please contact your local tutor for more information.



 ACCESSIBILITY

As some of our workshops are held in historic houses, accessibility for people with mobility issues varies from venue to venue.  If in doubt, please contact your local tutor for more information.
