Introduction to Photography - Part 2 - Movement

If you have done a Part 1 Get Off Auto or are comfortable with the basics, this 1-1 workshop teaches you how to photograph moving subjects to freeze or intentionally blur movement, how to deal with tricky lighting situations with the use of metering or fill in flash, how and when to use shutter priority mode, plus lots more to take your photography to the next level. This session takes place in my studio in Burwell and will last approx 3 hrs with a 2pm start time.
Introduction to Photography - Part 1 - Get off Auto

Our traditional Get Off Auto workshop with only 4 students. We will meet in a refectory shop in Norwich Cathedral for the how to part of the session before heading off around the Cathedral for the practical part of the session. The small group size ensures every student gets the assistance they require. The session runs from 10am to 1.00pm
Creative Portraits

Workshop explaining how to create studio type photos of dogs. We will start with the basics (one flash and a reflector) and work up to more technical lighting set ups (2 to 3 lights). To attend you need to have a good working knowledge of your camera as this is a skill level 3 course. This workshop runs from 10am until 4pm and is held in my studio in Burwell, Cambridgeshire and is limited to just 4 students.
Introduction to Photography - Part 2 - Movement

The content of our traditional Introduction to Photography - Movement workshop delivered as a series of 6 Zoom sessions. Each session will start with a theory presentation that often contains a simple practical task, followed by image review of student’s homework exercises. Having the content delivered over six sessions means that the learning is broken into more bite sized chunks and the practical and homework exercises are designed to build on the theory knowledge. We need a minimum of 4 students and there is a maximum of 6 per course to ensure everyone gets all the assistance and support that they need. Dates for this course are 19th, 26th Februaury, 4th, 11th, 18th March and 1st April at 7.30pm. Each Zoom session will last approximately 2 hours.
Introduction to Photography - Part 3 - Manual Mode & Composition

The content of our traditional Introduction to Photography - Manual Mode and Composition workshop delivered as a series of 6 Zoom sessions. Creative Close up and Macro workshop in my studio in Burwell limited to just 5 students. We will play with bubbles, water drop collisions, oil and water mixture, fruit spashes and water drops on various surfaces to see what creative images we can come up with. You will need your imagination and either a dedicated macro lens or a set of extension tubes or a bridge camera with a macro function to get the most out of the session. (I have one set of Canon extension tubes that students are welcome to borrow).

Birds of Prey & Action
Cressing Barns, Essex
Birds of Prey workshop in and around the stunning barns at Cressing Temple. We will do a mixture of static and flying shots using the Barns and the surrounding coutryside as our backdrops. First part of the workshop is the zoom how to presentation on 5th April at 7pm then its on to the practical session with our experienced falconers at Cressing Temple at 10am on the 2nd. The photogrpahic opportunities that the birds and the barns together create is something very special and not to be missed.
Travel & Street
Norwich Cathedral, Norfolk
Travel and street photowalk starting from the Refectory in Norwich Cathedral. We will spend time capturing the architecture, people in passing, odd details and intriguing signage in the city of Norwich. Limited to just 5 students this is the perfect opportunity to develop your photographic eye to take the best advantage of the photo opportunities that come your way. Photowalk runs from 10.30pm to 2pm and is suitable for any camera including a modern smartphone.
Introduction to Photography - Part 3 - Manual Mode & Composition

The art of composition is a key element of photography but is often overlooked in favour of the technical side. On this workshop we study all the different elements that work, both individually and together, to create a stunning photograph, including colours, textures, angles and a host of other elements that influence your photos. We also show you how and why to work in full Manual Mode to further improve your images. We will meet and do the presetation in my Burwell studio and then its off for a wander around the village for the practical part. This session has a maximum of 6 students.
