Set in seven acres of rural countryside, the facilities at Shropshire falconry are second to none. The venue is not open to the public and is exclusively for the use of our photographers whilst they are there. Steve and Lisa are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. They will be on hand to pass on tips and insights into bird behaviours which will help you capture great authentic looking shots. Experienced photographer Andy Lowe will be on hand on the day to offer advice and tips.
The day will last for five hours and is divided into two parts. The first session will focus on photographing static portraits of the birds in various natural locations and perches around the site. Following a break for lunch Steve and Lisa will fly a sequence of different birds which fly at gradually increasing speeds for our photographers to capture in action. Where possible this session will finish in the early evening to take advantage of the light.
Prior to the workshop there will be a short zoom meeting to recap all things technical, the equipment required for the day and some housekeeping around things we need to know when on site. Some prior knowledge around aperture, shutter speed, ISO and auto-focus would be advantageous for this workshop, as would a lens with a minimum focal length of 200mm.
This workshop is limited to ten photographers but will only run with a minimum of five photographers. If this number is not reached then attendees have the option to book for a future date. Plenty of notice will be given of this eventuality. It is also dependent on the weather, the primary concern being high wind. There are indoor facilities to fly some of the birds if the weather gets the better of us.
Simply purchase the voucher and then the recipient can choose whichever day on the North-West & North-West Midlands Going Digital page suits them best.
