Introduction to Photography - Get off Auto
Cambridge
If you're stuck on the Auto setting on your camera and frustrated because you're not getting the photos that you want, then this is the course for you! This workshop will have a maximum of 4 students, so you'll get plenty of support, and runs from 10.30am - 1.30pm. We will meet in a coffee shop in Cambridge for the how to and camera set up part of the session then out into the streets to take some practise images.
Zoom Training & Mentoring
Cambridge
12 months of group Zoom mentoring sessions. One session each month lasting approximately 2 hrs. The first part of each session will be some sort of information from me. I have a lsit of topics that we can delve into some of which are light, focal length, angles, eye mapping, visual weight, focus, movement, colour, mono, ICM, multiple exposure etc. Which ones we cover will be lead by the group. The second part of each session will be a collective image review where each student will be able to submit up to 8 images each month. If you want to push your photography to the next level then this is the perfect course for you. Group size will 6-8 students as this gives enough to make the group cohesive and not to many to ensure everyone gets time for feedback on images. Dates for the sessions, 11th February, 11th March, 15th April, 13th May, 17th June, 15th July, 12th August and 16th September, 7th October, 18th November, 9th December and 6th January. Timing 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

3 hr 1-1 Introduction to Lightroom Classicworkshop. There is a huge amount of online resources that can assit you with Lightroom the problem is that they all assume you know the basics. This workshop will teach you the basics and you will leave with video tutorials of all the content so you can practise at home after. Sessions are held in or around Cambridge. If you would like a different location this can be arranged but there will be an additional charge of £0.45 per mile from my home. Book this either as a gift or for yourself, just get in touch to arrange a mutually convenient date.

Students need to be confidently shooting on Aperture priority and have at least a 300mm lens to make the most of this session. A further £100 per person is payable directly to the hide on the day of the session to cover the hide cost

Using the flowers, fauna and structures of the Botanic Gardens in Cambridge we will look at composition and how to get beautiful close up images. Suitable for any camera and lens combination but if you have a macro lens or extention tubes then bring these along as this will give you more options when taking images of the flowers. The presentation part of this workshop is delivered via zoom at 7pm on the 9th May followed by the practical part at the Botanic Gardens from 2pm to 5pm on the 10th. Limited to just 6 students

3hr wildlife photography session at the Fox Hide with experienced wildlife photographer and tutor Laura Galbraith. Limited to just 3 students. Please note there will also be a £50 hide hire fee payable per student on the day directly to the hide owner.

Birds of Prey & Action
Fens Falconry, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
The perfect opportunity to take the next step to improve your photography of birds in flight and capturing portraits in natural surroundings. This workshop is split into two sessions the first is a Zoom pressentation at 7pm on the 15th August where I will explain how to take images of the birds both in flight and perched. The second is the practical session at the venue on the 16th August which runs from 2pm to 6pm to take advanteg of the best light to photograph the birds. Max 15 students.
