We have two venues in County Durham for our Birds of Prey and action photography days.
Our Introduction to Birds of Prey workshops take place at Walworth Castle which overlooks the beautiful countryside of the Tees Valley, just minutes from Darlington, close to Durham and just off the A1. The Castle provides a stunning backdrop for our birds of prey experience days. Walworth Castle Birds of Prey Centre is located within the grounds, providing a wealth of photographic opportunities to incorporate in to our workshop.
Our second venue for our Hawks & Hounds Action Photography Day is situated in spectacular countryside near Eggleston, just 30 minutes from the A1. Tori & David our falconers have been running Birds of Prey photography courses with us for the past few years and together we'll give you a photographic experience you'll never forget!
Hawks & Hounds Action Photography Day
A unique action photography day set on a private estate in the breath-taking countryside of Teesdale. Take action shots of birds of prey and dogs against the backdrop of one of the most iconic views of Teesdale. In this full day of action photography you'll be taking flying shots (from an elevated position) of Barn Owl, Buzzard, Goshawk, Harris Hawk, and Peregrine Falcon, as well as all action shots of a variety of dogs, including a Labrador and Pointer, running through open countryside, jumping fences and stone walls and swimming in the River Tees, where we also have the added advantage of photographing from a bridge to add another dimension to your photographs. There will also be the opportunity to take static shots of some of the birds, including the Barn Owl and Kestrel in derelict farm buildings, providing a more authentic setting. Please note this is not a hunting day.
HAWK & HOUND PHOTOGRAPHY DAY A unique chance to photograph owls falcons and hawks plus 3 different types of dogs in this simply stunning location in the heart of Teesdale. With exclusive access to a private estate in an idyllic setting with the River Tees running through it we have the opportunity to photograph the dogs running in open fields jumping fences and walls and having a great time swimming in the river! Due to the terrain we are able to have the advantage of height to be either at eye level or look down on the birds for some great flying shots. This course is suitable for anyone who is comfortable shooting in aperture priority and continuous focusing mode. Tuition will be given throughout the day. Two Nikon DSLR cameras and one 70-300m lens available to loan free of charge subject to availability - please request on booking form
